If there was one thing (y/n) hated in this world, it would be getting sick with the flu. Just the other day he and his team were out in the training grounds fighting Grimm when a storm rolled in. His teammates made a break for the school while he decided that a little rain wouldn’t hurt anyone and kept training until his energy ran out.

Boy was he wrong about that.

He now laid in bed with a 103-degree fever, runny nose, muscle aches, an itchy throat, and fatigue.

“That’s one heck of a fever you got,” Neo, one of his teammates, commented as she looked down at the thermometer she had just used on him.

“No kidding,” (y/n) groaned.

“Looks like you’ll be in bed for the next few days.” (y/n)’s groaning continued, he was always the restless type, and the thought of being stuck in bed for days just made him feel even worse.

“Sorry dude, I know this isn’t the time and place for it, but I’m gonna say it anyway,” Luke, a dog Faunus, stated, “But I told you so.” The earned him a slap behind the head from Lily, a tiger Faunus, “Come on Luke, can’t you at least show a little pity,” she scolded.

“Hey, we told him that it was a bad idea to keep training out there.”

“While you may be right, I think him getting sick is punishment enough.”
“Anyway,” Neo said, grabbing everyone’s attention, “Sorry but we’re gonna have to go to class. Think you can survive some hours on your own?”

“I’ll survive somehow.”

“Ok then, we’ll let the professors know about your condition and come by to check on you during break time.”

“Thanks.”

“No problem! Overcome this flu oh fearless leader!” Neo giggled and left with the rest of his team to their morning classes. For the longest of time all (y/n) did was lie there in his dorm room, coughing and sneezing, only getting out of bed to use the bathroom or empty his stomach. Midday finally came around as he anticipated the arrival of one of his teammates, what he didn’t expect for his door to be flung open and a female voice that didn’t belong to any of his female teammates proclaim loudly, “Never fear! Your friend neighborhood Yang is here!!”

“Ugh,” (y/n) groaned, the loud voice making his head hurt twice as much, “Yang? What are you doing here?” Yang was the hyperactive blonde from team RWBY. His and her team have hung out a few times, making them all pretty close; although personally, she was the last person he wanted near him now.

“Uh, isn’t it obvious? You’re sick! I’m here to take care of you! After all, I brought you everything you need!” That is when he noticed her arms full with random objects, and it did not look like she really did have everything he would need.

“Unless you have medicine and a cold rag for my forehead, I don’t think you have anything that’ll help.”

“Pfft, nah, you don’t need any of that, this is why my dad always did for me when I became sick, it’d always make me feel better,” she held up the first object, “A warm glass of whole milk!”

“Blech.”

“My favorite video game: Kung Fu Ninja Ultimate Death Battle 2!”

“Huh?”

“Hm, you’re right, the first one was way better,” she placed the game next to the milk, “And finally, a motivational cat poster,” she unrolled a large piece of paper that had a picture of a chibi Blake hanging onto a piece of rope with the words “hang in there” printed at the bottom. (y/n) rolled his eyes; of course the queen of crazy would think this would be all he needed to get better.

“Yang, I don’t need this, what I need is something to relieve me of this fever and all the pain in my body.”

“And I can’t think of anything better than a nice glass of milk and a good game!” She picked up the poster and after finding tape in the drawer
of the desk in the room, she hung it up on the wall where (y/n) would be able to see it, “There!” (y/n) groaned as he pulled the blanket over his head, his aching head just getting worse with every passing second, “Just please leave unless you’re really gonna take care of me,” he grouchily said.

“Geez, someone woke up with a Grimm in his bed. I am here to take care of you!”

“Then get me some medicine and something to cool me down!” (y/n) yelled, and then flinched when his yelling just made him feel worse again. Yang sighed, “Ok ok, maybe my way won’t make everyone feel better.”

“You’re just realizing that now?” (y/n) groaned while rolling his eyes.

“However, I think I have just the thing right here that’ll make you feel much better instantly.”

“Unless it’s medicine that you’re hiding, I don’t see-.” (y/n) never got to finish that sentence, for Yang had pulled the blanket off of him and pressed her soft, plump lips against his dry, chapped ones. A gasp of surprise was heard from him as Yang leaned in closer, deepening the kiss. Soon Yang pulled away, looking very proud of herself, “Feeling better?” (y/n)’s face was twice as red now, and needless to say, it wasn’t because of the fever.

“Wh-what the hell was that!?”

“Huh? Isn’t a kiss supposed to help an illness feel better?”

“That works with an INJURY, not when someone’s sick! Plus you’ll get sick too!”

“Oh . . . . . I hadn’t thought of that.” (y/n) sighed out of frustration; this girl really was gonna be the death of him, “Not to mention you stole my first kiss.”

“Wow, never thought guys would be concerned about something like that.”

“I-it’s the fever that’s messing with my head!”

“Keep telling yourself that darling~.”

“Well aren’t you upset with yourself for giving away a kiss so freely?”

“Not when it’s you.” The words and seriousness in her voice made (y/n) believe that she was not joking this time. He turned his head to look at her, seeing that she was looking out the window with a blush of her own on her cheeks.

“U-uh . . . . . well . . .” he was at a loss for words. Yang just sighed and walked over to his bed, pouncing on top of him, straddling his hips, “Y-Yang! What are you doing!?”

“Are you really that dense? I just confessed to you, so what’s your answer?” she said, looking down at him with a stern look on her face.

“U-um!! W-well, I guess I’ve always sorta admired you . . .”

“No no no, don’t give me that half-assed response. How about this, repeat after me: Yang, I love you too.”

“Who said anything about love!?”

“I’m waiting~.”

“Grrrrr.” Truth be told, (y/n) did more then admire Yang from afar, he truly did harbor feelings for her, but always figured she wouldn’t be interested in a mellow, boring guy like him.

“B-before I give my answer, let me just ask you one thing: why me?”

“Oh? Heh, well for one thing, you really care about your team as well as others, you’re pretty easy on the eyes,” she winked at him, causing for his blush to deepen, “Not to mention you’re cool when you get all serious out there fighting. I think those are enough reasons to choose you~.”

“I-I see.”

“Anyway, I’m still waiting.”

“. . . . . I love you too Yang.” As soon as he gave his answer, Yang once again kissed him full on the lips, only letting up between smooches to catch her breath.

“Y-Yang, you’ll get sick!” (y/n) managed to say between kisses.

“Oh come on, I’m not afraid of germs, germs are afraid of me~,” she assured before kissing him again.

“And this isn’t exactly helping me!!”

“Well you seem pretty energetic now~.”

“Yang!!”

~A few days later~

“Uuuughhhh.”

“You had one job: aid (y/n) that one afternoon, and yet you end up like this,” Weiss said spitefully from behind the mask she wore to keep the germs away, dabbing her teammate’s forehead with a cold cloth. Yang managed to crack a smile, “Heh, worth it though~.”

“Only you would think missing school would be worth getting sick due to contact with your sick boyfriend.”

A knock was heard and Weiss answered it, “Oh (y/n), glad you could make it.” (y/n) entered, also wearing a mask and holding an array of items in his arms, “Of course, what kind of boyfriend would I be to leave my crazy girlfriend sick in bed?”

“Awwww, you’re the best (y/n)!” Yang sat up and held her arms out while puckering her lips, asking for a hug and kiss.

“Yeah, not happening little dragon, I don’t wanna get sick again.”

“Whaaaaa!?”

“Well, she’s your problem now. I’ll be in the library,” and with that Weiss left to finally get some studying done.

“So, what’d you bring me?” Yang asked, lying back down.

“Only what will make you feel better: a warm glass of whole milk, your favorite video game, and a motivational cat poster~.”

“Awwww, you know me so well~. Now all I need is a kiss!”

“No way,” (y/n) said, putting the items he brought on the side table next to Yang. She pouted and looked the other way, not liking how she wasn’t getting what she wanted, that was until she felt something soft peck her on her cheek did she turn her head back at (y/n) with a questioning look.

“But I guess a little peck to help you get better wont hurt,” (y/n) smiled behind his mask. Nothing could stop the smile stretching across Yang’s face.

“Thanks hun, now hand over that game! I’ve got butt to kick!”

“Sometimes I really do wonder why I love you,” (y/n) muttered, handing her the said game.

“Love ya too!” Yang chimed through her runny nose, flipping the game system on and going all out with (y/n) watching with a small smile.

"she unrolled a large piece of paper that had a picture of a chibi Blake hanging onto a piece of rope with the words “hang in there” printed at the bottom."

I want this in my life. MAKE IT HAPPEN!

Moving on this was a cute story, very well in line with Yang, the only thing missing was one of her bad puns. Overall I give you a gold star for the cute story.
